PUTTING TURF APPLICATIONS

Slit Film Premier Golf Green Turf

This diagram shows the general construction of our Slit Film Premier Golf playing surface. This is our highest performance synthetic putting green turf. Slit Film turf is unique because the fibers activate altering shape and structure to create a perfectly modeled golf playing surface. The fibers of this turf are finely slit and tightly spun to create a column of fine turf fibers. This allows the sand infill to fall to the base of the turf giving it a solid footing and loading it for “activation.” As the green is filled with sand the fibers are brushed aggressively. This allows the fibers to unwind and spread, filling with sand as they do. After sand and brushing is complete we roll the fibers down with a heavy weight roller to further flatten and tune the playing surface. Once complete this creates a fine surface of small, soft, and evenly spaced fibers to provide perfect PGA golf stint speeds. You can see in the image below, It needs a very distinct process to install properly. Few contractors can actually build these.

Indoor Golf Green

Indoor synthetic putting surface. Once the flooring is cleaned and prepared, a Shock Absorbing Foam Pad is applied to its surface. This foam pad allows indoor greens to accept chips naturally.

The Indoor Specific Turf is then applied to the foam base. Depending on the synthetic turf selected, some Silica Sand may be used to give the synthetic fibers base structure a firm footing. Most modern indoor specific turf do not require brushing or compacting of the fibers.

  • Once the dirt surface is shaped to desire grade, we compact the surface and pin Geotextile Fabric over the complete synthetic golf green work surface. Next we create the shape and surface of the green by laying layers of Crushed Granite in finer grades until it resembles formed concrete. The granite surface it constantly soaked and compacted to insure the surface is uniform and solid.
